Welcome to MBUTILS. Currently the MBUTILS contains a single component: TMBCounter. This component can provide unique keys in a multi-user environment. Additional components are in the works, but none are quite ready for prime-time yet. MBUtils is released as shareware. I am including the code, because even if you don't have a use for this particuliar component, you may find the code useful. Especially the parts pertaining to the property editors. If you find this component useful and wish to encourage the release of components I may develop in the future, please register this component. I am only asking $10 at this point. Please either mail this to: Michael Bonner 2131 Tammy Lane Selma, CA 93706 or use CompuServe's SWREG (G SWREG) with ID # 5708. Note. Distribution via Delphi forum or CIS e-mail only. Please don't request disks via mail. I may consider this in future releases, but the file size is too small to justify this option at this time. Install the file MBUTILS.PAS to your component pallette. This creates a MBUTILS page containing the MBCounter component. I would suggest creating a directory under your DELPHI directory to hold all of your installed components. I.E. I use C:\DELPHI\COMPNT. This keeps your component search path short. Anyway, If you do that, copy the MBUTILS.PAS and MBUTILS.DCR files to that directory. Then select Options | Install Components then click on the ADD button, and use the Browse button to select the MBUTILS.PAS file. The files Counters.??? contain a sample counters table. The TEST project contains a test form demonstrating some of the functionality of the MBCounter component. To use the test project, open it and set the path in the TESTCNT form's MBCounter1.DatabaseName to point to the location where the COUNTERS.??? files are located. Then run the TEST project. The default location for these files is C:\D-APPS\MBUTILS\, but that will probably change on your machine. The file MBUTILS.WPD contains the documentation in Word Perfect 6 format. The file MBUTILS.DOC contains the docs in ascii format (printed from WP6 using the generic/text only windows driver). Sorry, but the docs are somewhat sketchy in this version. Feel free to ask any questions or post any comments on the Delphi forum. The source is included, so if you have any ideas for improvements, please feel free to post them or e-mail me.
